The Arcturus Bighorn Queen is the clearest fit if you want a 100% virgin wool blanket in a stated queen size of 90 by 96 inches. The Whispering Winds Queen is another large, dense option, measuring 90 by 90 inches. Arcturus’s sage, ivory, and steel blue listings share the same stated size and material, so choose among them by color. Molithe is a wool-focused alternative, but its 62-by-86-inch dimensions are smaller than the listed queen options.

Arcturus Bighorn Queen in Sage
Best for: Shoppers who want a true queen-size blanket made from 100% virgin wool. The listed queen dimensions are 90 by 96 inches, and the blanket weighs approximately 7 pounds. Its natural wool is described as breathable and temperature-regulating, making it a practical choice for people seeking warmth without a fully synthetic layer.
Arcturus says this blanket uses no recycled wool or added synthetic materials. The sage color suits buyers looking for a muted green option for a bed, cabin, or living space. It is selected as the lead pick because its stated dimensions and fiber content directly match the search for a queen 100% wool blanket.
Limitation: At approximately 7 pounds, it is a substantial blanket; consider the weight if you prefer lightweight bedding.
Whispering Winds 600 GSM Queen
Best for: Buyers who prioritize a dense blanket for cold weather. Whispering Winds lists its queen blanket at 90 by 90 inches and approximately 6.9 pounds, with a 600 GSM density. The product is described as 100% virgin Australian wool and brushed to raise a soft surface nap.
The listing says the wool helps move moisture vapor away from the skin and that the dense weave holds warmth while releasing excess heat. This makes it a useful comparison against Arcturus for shoppers who want a square queen-size option and a clearly stated fabric density.
Limitation: Its 90-by-90-inch dimensions provide less length than the Arcturus queen’s stated 96 inches.
Arcturus Bighorn Queen in Ivory
Best for: Buyers who want the Arcturus Bighorn’s queen dimensions and virgin-wool construction in ivory. The listed size is 90 by 96 inches, and the approximate weight is 7 pounds. Like the other Bighorn colors, it is described as naturally breathable and temperature-regulating for home or cabin use.
Choose this version if a light neutral color fits your bedding better than sage or steel blue. Its selection adds a color-specific alternative without changing the stated size and material features of the Bighorn range.
Limitation: The product details do not identify a different performance feature from the other Bighorn color options.
Arcturus Bighorn Queen in Steel Blue
Best for: Shoppers who want a darker blue color with the Bighorn’s stated 100% virgin wool construction. The queen size measures 90 by 96 inches and weighs approximately 7 pounds. The product information also highlights breathable, temperature-regulating wool and says the blanket contains no added synthetic materials.
It is selected for buyers comparing color choices within the same listed product range. Choose steel blue if you want the Bighorn specifications but prefer a cooler, darker shade for a bedroom, cabin, or sofa.
Limitation: This is not a distinct size or feature upgrade over the other Bighorn color listings.
Molithe Virgin Wool Blanket
Best for: Buyers who want a thick wool blanket for a couch, camping, or military-style gear rather than full queen-bed coverage. Molithe lists dimensions of 62 by 86 inches and describes a 600 GSM blanket with 100% virgin wool filling. It also highlights reinforced edge treatment and a wool-carding process intended to make the blanket softer.
The product information says the blanket is washed at high temperatures to improve softness and reduce odor. Its dimensions make it a useful smaller-format alternative in this roundup, but not a direct size match for the queen blankets above.
Limitation: At 62 by 86 inches, it is substantially narrower than the listed queen-size options.
Buying Guide: How to Choose a Queen Wool Blanket
What dimensions should you compare?
Check the blanket’s actual measurements rather than relying on the word “queen.” The listed Arcturus Bighorn queen is 90 by 96 inches, while Whispering Winds is 90 by 90 inches. Molithe measures 62 by 86 inches and is better treated as a smaller blanket. Consider how much overhang you want on the sides and whether you plan to tuck the blanket in.
Does 100% wool mean virgin wool?
Product wording matters. Arcturus specifies 100% virgin wool and says it does not use recycled wool or added synthetic materials. Whispering Winds describes its blanket as 100% virgin Australian wool. Molithe specifies 100% virgin wool filling, so check the listing details if you need to know more about the construction of the complete blanket.
How much warmth and weight do you want?
Wool blankets can feel substantial. The Arcturus queen is approximately 7 pounds, Whispering Winds is approximately 6.9 pounds, and Molithe lists 600 GSM. Compare weight and density with your preference for a heavy, warm layer. Wool is also described by these brands as breathable, but warmth and comfort are personal.
Which color or finish fits your room?
The three Arcturus options here share the listed size and material specifications, so color is a practical point of comparison: sage, ivory, or steel blue. Whispering Winds emphasizes a brushed surface, while Molithe highlights edge construction and processing for softness. Review care instructions on the product listing before washing any wool blanket.
