Buying Guide: Key Purchase Considerations
- Fit and compatibility: Look for sheets labeled as universal or sized for 32″ x 16″ mattresses, compatible with oval, round, rectangle, and hourglass Moses baskets.
- Fabric and breathability: Favor jersey knit polyester blends or cotton muslin for a soft, breathable surface that helps regulate temperature and wick moisture.
- Elastic secure fit: An encased elastic bottom helps keep sheets in place, reducing slack that could bunch under the baby.
- Ease of care: Machine-washable sheets that dry quickly are ideal for busy parents and nighttime changes.
- Durability and colorfastness: Choose durability-friendly fabrics that resist pilling and maintain color after multiple washes.
- Allergen considerations: For sensitive skin, opt for natural fibers such as cotton muslin, with minimal processing or dyes.
- Protection pairing: If using a mattress protector, ensure it pairs well with fitted sheets to maintain a smooth sleeping surface.
- Safety guidelines: Avoid loose blankets or heavy quilts in Moses baskets; use fitted sheets and breathable covers only.
- Value and pack size: Packs with multiple sheets offer cost efficiency and convenience for rotating clean sheets during laundry cycles.
- Cleaning and maintenance: Check care labels for washing and drying instructions to avoid shrinkage or damage.
